Stay warmer this winter and reduce your heat costs. Fabricover offers an affordable and easy way to skirt your RV, camper, or travel trailer.
To avoid the Fall season rush, order your new vinyl RV Skirting during the months of March - August.
Current production lead time on RV skirting is 3 weeks.
Our standard, heavy duty RV Skirting panel kits are ideal for year round use in harsh temperature climates where your RV may be exposed to hard, cold winds and where extreme, sub zero, temperature
freezing is a potential problem. At Fabricover we offer generic, heavy-duty, custom RV skirting panel kits from our
heaviest 18 oz, polyester reinforced vinyl which is extremely durable
and strong. The 18oz vinyl fabric is tear resistant and the edges will not fray. The individual, custom vinyl panels can easily be cut and folded around steps, hitches, and pipes.
ADVANTAGE OF RV SKIRTING:
Meets requirements of RV parks
Heavy weight fabric resists wind wear
Can easily be installed by one or two people
Improves the appearance of any RV or Travel Trailer
Helps stabilize your RV and minimize wind rocking
Helps winterize your RV
Easy to clean and store
We provide finished RV skirting panels and fasteners only. We do not fabricate, nor stock skirting for specific RV models. Each individual skirt panel is custom finished to the specific height and length selected, the fabric color selected, and the fastener type selected by the customer. You must determine the correct panels sizes you need by accurately measuring your RV. You must determine the best location for
mounting the fasteners onto your RV. Each RV or Travel Trailer is
different and the installation of the skirting may require additional
hardware which you can purchase locally at any hardware store.
After you have completed the installation of your new RV skirting panels, strips of vinyl can be glued to the vinyl panels to cover any gaps between panels using the VINYL FABRIC STRIPS. We also offer (glue in) Vinyl Zipper Splices in several different lengths, which allow you to un-zip separate panels, if needed. We also offer (glue in) Vinyl Hook and Loop (velcro) Splices in several different lengths, which allow you to connect and separate panels, if needed.
Skirting Panel Height choices available are: 24", 30", 36", 42", 48", 54", 60", 66", 72".
Skirting Panel Length choices available are: 10', 15', 20', 25', 30', 35' (Depending on height)
Stock fabric color choices available are: Black, White, Gray, and Tan.
These are sold as individual RV skirting panels. Please be sure to order enough skirting panels to fully skirt your RV.
Three choices of top panel attachments are available: Twist locks, snaps, or hook and loop (Velcro).
All components of the selected fasteners are included with each RV skirt panel ordered.
The male components of the twist lock fastener (shown above right) are included with your order and must be installed on the trailer, in a solid location, with screws or rivets. The female components of the twist lock fastener come pre-installed across the top of each skirt panel at approximately every 20". (Screws or rivets are not included). You must determine the proper type of screw or rivet to use for your application. The male component of the twist lock fastener sticks out 3/4". Make sure you have clearance for the twist lock fasteners if skirting your RV slide out. Do not pre-drill all the fastener holes in your RV. Attach one twistlock fastener at a time as you work your way around your RV. All twist lock fasteners have corrosion resistant nickel finish and rust-resistant brass springs. Mounting screws are not provided for the twistlock fasteners. Because the twist lock fastener may be mounted to a variety of surfaces (ie. heavier metal, tin, plastic, fiberglass, etc.) we cannot identify the appropriate screw or rivet type to send with the fastener. Please check with your local hardware store professional who can help you determine the best type and size of mounting screw or rivet to use in your application. (TIP: The male part of each twist lock fastener is a "double" stud. This allows you to overlap two female fasteners onto one male stud)
The
male component of the snap fastener (shown above right) are included
with your order and must be installed in the trailer, in a solid
location. The female components of the snap fastener come pre-installed across the top of each skirt panel at approximately every 20". The male component of the snap fastener sticks out 1/4". Make sure you have clearance for the snap fastener if skirting your RV slide out. Do not pre-drill all the fastener holes in your RV. Attach one snap fastener at a time as
you work your way around your RV. All snap fasteners have corrosion
resistant nickel finish and rust-resistant brass clips.

The adhesive backed, HOOK component of the velcro fastener is provided with each panel you order and must be installed on the trailer, in a smooth, flat, clean location. Areas where the adhesive backed velcro fastener will be installed must be thoroughly cleaned with an isopropyl alcohol which does not leave any residue. The LOOP component of the velcro fastener comes pre-sewn along the top of each individual skirting section. It is recommended that the outside temperature be 40 degrees F, or warmer, when applying the sticky back component onto your RV. (Caution: Extreme heat during the summer months may loosen the adhesive backing on the hook side, causing it to sag or shift on the RV. Small screws with washers placed through the velcro into the RV will help minimize this problem. Twistlock fasteners can also be manually installed through the velcro for a more secure attachment. The adhesive backed hook side of velcro on your RV may also need to be replaced occasionally due to weathering.)
Securing each panel to the ground. Each panel has a bottom "Pocket Hem" for weight inserts as well as stake loops spaced every 5 feet.
Each
finished skirt panel has a 5" pocket hem welded along the entire bottom
for weight inserts. (The 5" pocket hem is not included in the overall
height of the panel). The 5" pocket hem is designed to fold back under
the RV and lay flat on the ground. Rope stake loops are also placed
into each skirting panel every 5' along the bottom allowing you to
securely stake the panels into the ground. (Stakes are not included)
HELPFUL THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT RV SKIRTING:
The
height measured over the RV wheel axles should always be a consistent
height to the ground, no matter where your RV is parked.
The
rubber beading trim found on most RVs is usually mounted at a
consistent height on all four sides and is a good, solid mounting point
to consider for skirting.
If
using twist lock fasteners, you must determine the proper type of screw
or rivet to use for your application. Your local hardware store
professional can help you.
If using velcro fasteners, you must apply the sticky back velcro to a clean, smooth, flat surface.
Longer panels can be wrapped around corners to skirt both the sides and ends of your RV.
Use longer panel lengths when possible to minimize openings and reduce splicing.
Slide out skirts are generally mounted higher on the RV and may require a separate skirting panel.
If the slide out space tolerance is minimal, fasteners are not always required to be mounted on the short ends of a slideout.
Because
of the rounded shape on the front nose of many RVs it is recommended to
use twist lock fasteners on the nose skirting for more secure
attachment.
To minimize wrinkling, it is recommended that you attach one fastener at a time as you work your way around your RV. Do not pre-drill all fastener holes.
Always cut the vinyl skirting fabric from around heat source areas like the furnace or hot water tank exhaust.
Do
not drive or pull your RV with the skirting panels attached. Before
traveling, remove the skirting panels from your RV and store them
properly.
HOW TO ORDER:
(STEP 1)
Measure your RV to determine the correct height and length of the individual panels you will need to fully skirt your RV
Determine the best location for mounting the fasteners onto your RV. Measure the height from this point to the ground on all lower, slide out, and nose skirting. These are your individual panel heights.
Panel Height choices available are: 24", 30", 36", 42", 48", 54", 60", 66", 72".
Determine the panels lengths required to fully skirt you RV on all four sides. Measure depth and length for separate slide out panels, if required. These are your individual panel lengths.
Panel Length choices available are: 10', 15', 20', 25', 30', 35' (Depending on height)
These are sold as individual RV skirting panels. Please be sure to order enough skirting panels to fully skirt your RV.
(STEP 2)

Strips or pieces of vinyl can be cut apart as needed to permanently join RV skirting sections together or to aid in customizing your skirting sections around steps, hitches, doors, or storage compartments. Holes and tears can also be repaired in your vinyl skirting

Two separate panel sections can be joined together on the vertical ends with the VINYL ZIPPER SPLICE so that they can be separated (un-zipped) if desired. A zipper splice is great for adding a zippered door access into a 5th wheel nose skirt and storage compartments. Each VINYL ZIPPER SPLICE comes pre-sewn with a #10 size, heavy duty, separating zipper. Zipper splices are glued into the panel at the desired location and requires the purchase of the HH-66 VINYL CEMENT to install.

Two separate panels can be joined together on the vertical ends with the VINYL HOOK AND LOOP SPLICE so that they can be separated (pulled apart) if desired. Each VINYL HOOK AND LOOP SPLICE comes pre-sewn with 2" wide hook and loop fastener. Hook and Loop splices are glued into the panel at the desired location and requires the purchase of the HH-66 VINYL CEMENT to install.

(CAUTION: Extreme heat during the summer months may loosen the adhesive backing, causing it to sag or shift slightly. Small, flat head screws with flat washers placed through the hook velcro into the sub surface (if possible) will help minimize this problem. The sticky back hook velcro may also need to be replaced occasionally due to weathering). NOTICE: This is the sticky back HOOK side of the Velcro only. The sticky back LOOP side of the velcro will not adhere to the vinyl skirting fabric permanently. The LOOP side of the velcro must be sewn onto the vinyl skirting fabric.
